About

Hi! I'm Meaghan, founder of 'The Botanist'. My original roots come from the beauty industry. For over 20 years I've had the privilege of connecting with people through the art of hair. In recent years I have delved into improving my lifestyle to be more healthful. I finally started to keep plants alive indoors and started gardening and growing microgreens around the same time. Plants brought life to my space and caring for them for me was very therapeutic, not to mention the proven health benefits of being around nature (I brought the jungle inside). Learning how to grow my own food connected me on a whole new level, not to mention the appreciation I gained for farmers and having grocery stores when my crops failed. To me plants are everything, they liven up spaces, they clean our air, they store carbon, they are our food. My goal is to help people learn about how they can use plants to amplify their lives, grow community and learn how we can together work on sustainability in a modern world for a better future.

Create, connect and cultivate.

Repotting Services

LET US TO THE DIRTY WORK!

You may have lack of knowledge, skill, time or just don't want to deal with dirt in your home. We offer in-store potting services for all your plant babies.

Our prices range from $1-3 dollars per inch of soil. There is a range because some plants require more work to repot then others. For example a plant that is extremely root bound and compacted takes extra time and attention to untangle the roots safely.

Prices

$1-3    Soil per inch of pot diameter.

For example a 4" replant can cost $4-12. Why the range? Well some peoples plants come in a state after not being repotted for years. It takes a very long time to tangle the roots together to do our best to prevent transplant shock. Some plants are very straightforward so you will get the base price for these plants. All of our plants are potted with our in aroid, thirsty plant mix (both made in house) or cactus mix. We can do even more custom mixes for things like fruit trees, bonsais and more with special requests.

We have a variety of pots that can be used to plant directly into with drainage holes in saucers including terracotta, ceramic and hybrid resins. We typically recommend to plant into a plastic nursery pot and place this into a the cover pots, but that's not always an option. When possible we will reuse plastic nursery pots at no extra charge. If we do not have one available from our reuse stock one will be charged.
